You speak about people as if they are objects put here just to meet each other’s needs. That’s the problem to begin with, why must all our needs be met? How selfish! If you love someone you love all the things about them, you don’t say I love them but they aren’t funny enough, so I’m going to have an affair with a comedian so my humor needs are met.

I came across this quote in the internet which I feel sums up the major reason why men cheat. I’ve been involved in relationships before where I was the third party.

It was not easy most especially when the other party finds out about the relationship; the drama starts and the heartaches begin.

Men would complain on how they are being treated by their significant others, how their egos are being stepped on. They would often say that their partner doesn’t understand their needs; they often feel suffocated inside the relationship especially when their partner is very dependent or needy; others would complain about not having enough time or space to do things on their own; others would just rant about anything the other person does that irritates them. The list would go on and on, but basically it would come up to one reason, they are not SATISFIED with the relationship they’re in.

Most of them would find qualities in a woman absent from the one they’re already in a relationship with. This often starts by confiding their relationship problems with another girl and they feel that when being consoled by that person, she understands him better compared to his partner. Its trouble when the comparison between two women starts. Questions like “Why can’t you be like her?” or “Why can she do it and you can’t?” are the early signs of discontentment in a relationship. It’s either he gets it from you by means of you adjusting or changing to correspond to his needs or he’d get it from someone else.

Being in that kind of relationship is definitely not something I’m proud of having done, but there’s a lot of learning from the experience. I’ve learned that loving someone doesn’t end when you find something lacking in the relationship. Partners should learn to complement each other. Nobody is perfect and there’s no perfect relationship either. If you love the person, learn to accept the flaws of your better-half. If change is for the better, consider changing; if change is impossible learn to accept it. Learn to be content and grateful with what you have.

I work for a well-known company included in the list of the top corporations. When I got accepted to join the company, I was very enthusiastic and thought that this is the company. I plan to work for until my retirement…that’s how I felt two years ago. Everything is different now.

I researched  on why employees leave the company and I could relate to a lot of them. Here’s to point out a few:

• Good employees leave the company because of their supervisors or managers. Managers tend to pass on the stress to their one-downs when they are being pressured by higher management. Managers can stress out their subordinates in various ways, by bullying them and making them feel they are incompetent. Sometimes, by also making them feel that they are stupid. There are bosses also who are threatened by their subordinates because they see potential and because their subordinates would appear more skilled and smarter and could eventually outshine them. Only a few bosses have undergone leadership training skills where they will learn to train their juniors all the way up the corporate ladder and not drag them down.
• Standards and procedures in the office. Policies and procedures in the office needs to be revisited every once in a while and this should be cascaded to all the employees in the company. A company needs to adapt to the changing world where technology is usually updated and the environment is not always as it seems. There should always be room for improvement. Rank-and-file employees do the dirty work, and by listening to their voices and considering their suggestions, they could contribute to the enhancement of procedures being done in the office instead of treating them as “dispensable” and could be easily replaced.
• Lack of career succession planning. Every company has its own mission and vision, so does an employee. Who wouldn’t want to go up the corporate ladder and get promoted? Employees want to have a clear career path. The managers’ role in their subordinates is not only to train them, motivate them but also to give direction to where their career is headed. The question “What happens next?” should always be addressed.
• No training opportunities. Training must not only be beneficial to the company but to the employee as well. Many companies believe that training is a misuse of the corporate funds, this makes the employees feel that there’s no growth potential on the company they are in. Companies must provide employees with training that would develop their skills professionally and personally.
• Poor working environment. To be able to provide excellent work output, the resources should be available. Office equipment or machineries should be properly working and sufficient. Bosses also need to generate a good corporate culture otherwise the staff will be unmotivated, they would feel that working is no longer gratifying, instead they would only feel compelled to do the work without their heart in it.

These are just a few points raised in the discussion, there are more. I used to think that if I got in one of the top companies, it’s the most fortunate thing to happen in my career, an opportunity of a lifetime, but I was mistaken Anyway, I’m looking forward to the changes and improvements that will happen after the survey. I do hope that the management will listen to the voices and not go on denial. Otherwise, we will be expecting a lot more resignation before the year ends, maybe it will include mine.

The most annoying part is after waiting in line, the sales attendant is not accommodating, and they will instantly give you an unpleasant look and tone of voice when you ask questions about three products or more.

I hope their management can improve their selling method and customer service, the products they sell are mostly updated and yet their process is outdated. CD-R King is a good store for cheap computer gadget; they could be the best if they could improve on their customer service.

I joined a Filipino community forum in the World Wide Web four years ago because I wanted to get personal views of people I personally don’t know about a relationship issue I’ve been dealing with. I wanted an unbiased opinion, so I posted a question in that forum. I’ve got a lot of responses from that post which made me realize how everyone’s opinion differs in so many ways. Ever since, I got hooked with that forum and there, I’ve met a lot friends and acquaintances.

I never thought that I’d meet my future better half in that forum. I met him during one of the meet-ups I organized. We started dating and ended up in a serious relationship. Last year, he proposed and asked for my parents’ blessings. We’re getting married this year, so I guess most of my upcoming posts will focus on wedding preparations.

I’ve always thought that the Cyber world was the least possible place where you’ll meet someone you’d be with for the rest of your life, I stand corrected.
